A structured class for young creators, starting with popular warm-up drawing games. The focus is on fun and confidence building! Content: Covering a variety of subjects using the three main types of drawing – Observation, Memory and Imagination. With small class sizes and dedicated one-on-one mentoring, teens receive the kind of structured guidance typically found in pre-tertiary art programs.     New for Term 3: This term, For the first three lessons, students will create a highly refined graphite portrait, focusing on accurate proportions, observation, tonal values, light and shadow, and the subtle details that bring a face to life. Rather than rushing to complete a drawing, students will learn the importance of slowing down, carefully observing, and refining their work to a professional standard.

    Then later into the term students will spend 2 lessons exploring the timeless medium of oil painting. You'll create an artful fabric design using painting and screen-printing techniques. This is perfect for beginners and requires no previous experience. You’ll be coached through the process and encouraged to release your fears and get your creative juices flowing in an inspiring, well-structured and super fun workshop. First, you will explore different brushwork and painting styles to create the background design, learning about positive and negative space. Then you’ll get to experiment with printing techniques using a silkscreen and squeegee, learn about pressure, flooding and technique. You will use Kim’s personal designs to screen-print and be using eco-friendly non-toxic paints to create beautiful and dynamic designs. Thursday 24 September: a Moonlit Fox painting on canvas, Tiny Treasures clay bowls & dishes, a mixed media clam shell craft, and tie dye - please pop a white cotton t-shirt or pillowcase in their bag for that one. Tuesday 29 September: a realistic fox drawing, cute dragon clay building, a personalised stationery box, and a goldfish painted on timber.
